I'm not saying that being a pioneer crossing the plains would have been easy. Of course they had their challenges. But sometimes I look back at their time and can't help but wish I could have been one of them, with their nice cowboy hats, their matching shirts and their gitty-up sing songs. Sure I'm happy with what I've got, but a fellow can dream, can't he?

Isn't that the picture from the Ward road show last year?
I got in a fight with a pioneer once and he knocked out two of my teeth. Don't underestimate how tough they are just because they sing sweet melodies.
Bishop, you should join the ward a cappella group "Whistlin' Dixie". Brother Tibble formed it about a month ago. We meet once a month in his basement and practice all of our favorite showtunes. You have to dress as your favorite cowboy and Bro. Tibble says you get extra points for chaps.
Oh, which reminds me, Bishop do you know where to find authentic Wranglers? Chuck (he asked us to call him that) says you can tell the fake ones by rubbing the label on the back pocket and I'm getting tired of him telling me that mine are fake.
Yeah. So maybe you Mormons should spend a LITTLE less time making blogs to poke fun at yourselves, and spend a little MORE time spreading the word of the Gospel of the Lord. Just an idea???
More time spent spreading the gospel of the Lord? Just an idea? And a darn good one at that. I think our church should instigate a missionary program. Oh, wait. We already have one with, like, a million missionaries or something. Maybe you should spend a little more time giving thanks for all that the Lord has given you, like, two arms, two legs, and that one good eye you have that still works reasonably well.
I know who that "anonymous" poster is, Bishop. It's Ammon Denton from the Lindon 8th Ward. His parents buy him a Big Mac if he bears his testimony on fast Sunday. Really. It's messed up.
Janelle
Is that Bing Crosby in front?
Pioneer men were hot. They didn't have video games back then.
Oh how I love this blog . . . let me count the ways. :)
